Langham 10K Run

The Langham 10K and Fun Run is an annual event organised by Friends of Langham School (FOLS), a charitable organisation and the Boxted Runners.

Generally regarded as one of the flatter and faster 10kms in the local area, and the 10 am start means even on a warm day you can avoid the midday sun. The route winds through picturesque Constable countryside, and this late summer event is recognised locally as one of the most enjoyable and friendliest. The race now annually attracts over 1000 runners, with a good mix of Club Runners of all abilities and those just running to keep fit or just for the fun of it from neighbouring counties and beyond.

Langham 10K and 5K Fun Run started at the end of the 1990’s by Jim Clark. Jim was the chair of governors at Langham Primary School at that time and was a runner.

He got people involved in organising a 10K run and include a 5K run for the children and adults wanting to run for fun.

It became a successful fund-raising event for many years, organised by Langham Primary School’s PTA and supported by the community with their much-needed help.

Boxted Runners was founded by Vanessa Dolling in June 2017, with a clear vision to be the friendliest, most encouraging, and supportive running club for everyone in north Essex / Suffolk. The aim was to inspire people who haven’t run before to come along, give it a go, and join in our running community too.
